Purpose |
To define the role of contracted custodial personnel and services provided to the university |

policy |
Custodial services are a contracted service. |
|
All state guidelines are adhered to when dealing with common areas, bathroom facilities, classrooms, and lobbies. |
|
|
Services to break rooms and coffee rooms are not provided and are the responsibility of the occupants utilizing such spaces. |
|
|
A list of normally provided (routine) services for an area can be obtained from Physical Plant Administration. |

procedure |
University employees are asked to assist Physical Plant by calling the Work Management Center (590-1370) when |
|
a. Supplies are depleted |
|
|
b. Routine services have not been performed |
|
|
c. Emergencies such as spills or leaks are discovered that may present a safety hazard or damage to property |
|
|
The building custodial services are provided through a private contractor. |
|
|
The University has contracted custodial services for day and evening hours in order to meet the needs of everyone. |
|
|
Services are also provided for special events on a regular basis and are not considered part of contracted services. |
|
|
Special events are charged back to the requesting department, college, or activity. Refer to the Administrative Services Intranet for more department information. |
