Our Mission
To provide centralized computing and network support
for members of the university community.
To maintain administrative servers, university network, and
information stored on its resources by members of the university
community.
To provide adequate access to information located on and off
campus.
Computer Support Services
Computer Support Services provides technical support,
computer repair and software training to faculty and staff. Our
goal is to provide high quality, timely service to the university
community.
The Computer Support Help Desk provides technical support via
the Internet, phone or email. You can access the Help Desk web
site or send email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Phone support
is available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and
Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Network
The Network Group is responsible for the network backbone infrastructure
and central file service. The Network Group manages and maintains;
Network and Email Account Services, Network, Security Policies,
Maintenance of Administrative Services Servers, Placement and
Connectivity of all Servers, Network Printing to the Departmental
Printers, Internet Access, Email Policies, Dial-In Services, Computer
Crimes Act. This Group will perform network upgrades as the need
arises. The campus community will be fully informed of network
procedures, down time and upgrades.
Applications
The Applications Group mission is to provide useful, accurate,
and timely data to effectively manage Florida Gulf Coast University
and serve its students. The Applications Group will provide
leadership and consultation, promote information sharing and
efficiency, and work to eliminate data redundancy. In addition
the Applications Group will assist departments with evaluating
application software and designing and implementing state-of-the-art
software systems.
